UCI to allow disc brakes in cyclo-cross competition

Following the recommendation of the Cyclo-cross Commission, the UCI Management Committee has approved modifications to its cyclo-cross rules which will take effect at the beginning of the 2010-2011 cyclo-cross season. Two of the most significant changes are that disc brakes will now be allowed, and the legal tire width has been changed to not exceed 33 mm. Read More....

USA Cycling announces 2010/2011 Cyclo-cross National Calendar

USA Cycling announced today the 2010/2011 Cyclo-cross National Calendar (CXNC). This year's series boasts eight UCI category-one events and 45 category-two competitions. All 53 events on the calendar are part of the UCI Cyclo-cross Calendar, giving the United States more internationally-sanctioned cyclo-cross races than any other nation. Over 60 national titles up for grabs in Louisville next week

Over 800 riders are already registered for the 2010 USA Cycling Masters Road National Championships which are set to get underway next week in Louisville, Ky. Abbott, Sutherland win at Cascade Cycling Classic, move up in NRC

Mara Abbott and Rory Sutherland won the women's and men's general classifications at the Cascade Cycling Classic last week in Bend, Ore. Abbott's victory moved her into third place overall in the 2010 USA Cycling National Racing Calendar women's overall standings, while Sutherland took over the No. 2 spot on the men's side. Pro GRT continues this weekend with Crankworx Colorado

The 2010 USA Cycling Professional Mountain Bike Gravity Tour (Pro GRT) makes its way to the Rocky Mountains this weekend with a stop at Winter Park Resort's Trestle Bike Park, July 29-August 1. The Colorado event is the fourth of five international-grade downhill events on the Pro GRT.
