
The USA Cycling Development Foundation will once again award four collegiate scholarships in the month of December. These scholarships are made possible by annual donations to the John Stenner and Joshua Kuck Memorial Scholarship Funds and the application deadline for both scholarships is December 15. This weekend will see 30 of USA Cycling's 34 Local Associations (LA), as well as seven of USA Cycling's Collegiate conference directors, gather in Colorado Springs for the national governing body's fifth annual Local Association Summit. Four events on the 2009/2010 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Racing Calendar were held last weekend: the Blue Sky Velo Cup and Beacon Cross on October 31 and the Boulder Cup and HPCX on November 1. With 26 of the 42 events on the calendar now in the books, Jeremy Powers and Maureen Bruno-Roy are currently sitting atop the elite men's and women's standings with 294 and 200 points respectively. Last weekend marked the midway point of the 2009/2010 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Racing Calendar as racers contested two days each of the USGP of Cyclocross Derby City Cup in Louisville, Ken. and the Downeast Cyclocross in New Gloucester, Maine. Shelley Olds grabbed a bronze medal over the weekend with her third-place performance in the scratch race at the UCI Track World Cup Opener in Manchester. USA Cycling fielded a squad of five for the event which took place October 29 - November 1. Read More....
U.S. riders picked up 27 medals at the 2009 UCI Masters Track World Championships last week. The event, held in Sydney, Australia from Oct. 19-24, featured cyclists age 30 and above battling it out for world titles in the time trial, individual pursuit, scratch race, team time trial, sprint, and points race events. USA Cycling received and is reviewing and processing 12 candidates for menandrsquo;s UCI Continental Team status for the 2010 season. The deadline for submitting a team inscription was October 31, 2009 and no other candidates will be accepted for the 2010 season. Read More....
The BMC Racing Team today announced the signing of current World Professional Road Champion Cadel Evans to a three year contract. This partnership will create mutually beneficial opportunities for both the current World Champion as well as the U.S.-based BMC Racing Team. Read More....
